THE METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE
October through June. These 1-1/2 hour tours start promptly at 3:30 PM on weekdays and 10:30 AM on Sundays. Tour attendees meet in the lobby of the Metropolitan Opera House, at 64th Street and Broadway. The tour includes the shops where artisans work on the sets, costumes and the rehearsal facilities, dressing rooms, the vast stage complex and the auditorium. The ticket price is $10 per person for the general public and $5 for full-time students. Advance reservations are required for individual and group orders. LINCOLN CENTER TOURS
Lincoln Center has a variety of tours.  For detail, call 212-875-5350 http://www.lincolncenter.org  Tour prices are typically $10 for adults and $8.50 for students and seniors.

THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
The free one-hour tours begin at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM - Monday to Friday. The Federal Reserve Bank (the world's richest bank) is located at 33 Liberty Street in lower Manhattan. You can get there by taking the "2", "3", "4" or "5"  train to the Wall Street station or the "A" or "C" train to the Broadway station. To participate in a tour, you must call 212-720-6130, or send an e-mail to frbnytours@ny.frb.org one month in advance for a reservation. Participants must be at least 16 years old. The tour includes a visit to the gold vault where the gold bullion of 48 nations is stored. If supplies are available, you will get a packet of shredded money at the end.    http://www.ny.frb.org

YANKEE STADIUM
The one-hour guided tours take place at noon when the Yankees are not playing there. The tour includes Monument Park, the dugout, the field, the Club House and the Press Box and is given by Tony Miranda. Cost of tour - $12 for adults, $6 for seniors. To reserve, call 718-579-4531. To get to Yankee Stadium by subway, take the "D" Sixth Avenue subway to the 161st Street stop. As you exit, you face the stadium field. GRACIE MANSION
The one-hour tours are held only on Wednesdays at 10 AM and 1 PM, starting in late March and continuing until mid-November. The suggested donation is $7 for adults and $4 for seniors; and is free to students. The guided tour includes the upstairs family quarters. For reservations, call Peggy Ann Cohen at 212-570-4751. The Mansion, located at 88th Street and East End Avenue, recently reopened after a $7 million renovation. It's been the residence of the Mayor of New York since 1942.  Take the "4", "5" or "6" train to the 86th Street station.

CITY HALL
Free guided tours are offered at 2 PM on Fridays. Everyone from Abraham Lincoln to Albert Einstein has been feted there. It was recently reopened to the public after a $2.6 million renovation. George Washington's mahogany desk is on display. Call 212-788-6865 for further details.

CARNEGIE HALL
The one-hour tours are given from September to early July Monday to Friday at 11:30 AM, 2 PM, and 3 PM. The tour includes a view of the hall from the dress circle and orchestra levels, and a visit to the Hall of Composers and the Carnegie Hall museum. Occasionally, there's a view of a rehearsal. NYU INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS
Free illustrated art lectures are held from mid-September through April at 1 East 78th Street, the former Doris Duke mansion. They are one hour long and take place in her former ballroom. The lectures are held at 4 PM on Fridays. At the end of the lectures, free wine and cheese is served.
