FRENCH WORDS AND PHRASES
USED IN ENGLISH

The following French words and phrases are commonly used in the English language, although spelled frequently without accents (and spoken frequently with an accent).  Some meanings have been altered in the "translation", such as the word "menu".    In English, some of these words are written more than spoken.  Some are familiar only in a specialized field, such as aviation.

A good on-line French-English dictionary is WordReference.com, and some detailed articles in English are included in Wikipedia.
